rear shock spring preload range
Permalink

Hey guys and gals,

I am setting up the rear suspension after replacing all of the bearings for it and i lost my manual download from a tablet reset and am waiting on Totally TTR to send a revised download link, in the interim, does anyone have a manual handy that can tell me the rear shock spring min and max preload settings?  I amn about to reinstall everything around the shock and wanted to go ahead and set it prior to putting everything in the way while its easy to get to!

Thanks!

Chris

you should not preload the spring anymore than 25mm.
yamaha spring there dirt bikes for a 75 to 85kg rider..
So if you are lighter or heavyer you need another spring..

ie... if you weigh 80kgs preload the spring to 12mm.
but it's only a guide....

Correct I understand, just looking for the minimum and maximum preload distance, so 25mm from zero preload is the max I'm guessing from your post..

I could not find a manufacturer who made replacement springs for this bike.. I tried factory connection and racetech and they sent me to brown brothers and they don't lost anything either... Any ideas where I could get a heavier sitting in the states?

measure the spring...
length / ID at both ends..
then go searching...
I'm lucky as I weigh around 77kgs
so don't normaly need to replace
shock springs... So have not searched
for a replacement for the TTR..

According to my service manual spring length should be:

Standard 228mm
Minimum 224mm
Maximum 236mm
