A forum for owners of Yamaha TTR250 trail and enduro bikes!

Hi from the often most liveable city Melbourne! Well I finally got around to joining the forum, not because I finally bought a TTR250, I’ve owned mine since June 2003! But I thought I better write up some stuff before it dies (do TTRs ever die?) or before I sell it. Wait, what sell it? Maybe might just have to due to finances/storage and maybe it’s time to, it’s not like I haven’t given her a good run (60,000+Kms). Anyway time to join this forum while I’m still a Yammy owner and well essential join the family that loves to celebrate all things TTR  

Why a Yamaha TTR250? 

1. I am a Yamaha fan at heart. Who can remember heroes like Steven Gall & Craig Dack? And more recently Chad Reed & Valentino Rossi. My first bike was a Yamaha and so were my dad’s farm bikes & 1 ATV and even my brother's YZ80 so Yamaha was well and truly in the blood. 

2. Budget. It was much cheaper than many other options.

3. But still a very capable dirt bike & reliable. (It had to be a trail bike that I could ride legally around town.) And they still look good too (not something like a Kawasaki Sherpa – sorry Sherpa fans but just a little gross)

4. It had to be a 250 – at the time Victoria was restricting learner riders to a maximum 250cc.

I could keep going but they would have to be main reasons. Now I could write lots more about my TTR250 story but the missus is giving me the word. 

Oh just quickly where do I ride? Bush: Around Aberfeldy, Baw Baw National Forest. Work: 20 mins to Rowville, Victoria and back. Odd weekend club rides: Classic bikes organised by DMCC (other bikes welcome – thus how I get to tag along).

PS. I don’t have many photos – our Nokia mobiles were useless 13 years ago, but here is one interesting pic I took some time within the 12 months of owning her. Taken at Aberfeldy on a trail riding weekend, the KDX was either my brothers or his friends, I can’t remember/who cares.
