Hello from Gippsland Australia and thank you for such a great forum

Hi there from James in Gippsland , Victoria , Australia !

I have a 1999 model (plastic tank) TTR 250 which had been neglected when I bought her but slowly bringing her back to a serviceable , nice to ride machine.

Would just like to say thank you to all on this forum for there brilliant ideas and tuition .

Have been able to turn a bit of a basket case bike into a usable, reliable trail bike .

I have been able to rebuild the swing arm and suspension linkages, replace the ignition switch (with the aftermarket one shown on the forum) , lower the suspension and remove the rounded off 12mm sump plug and replace with the 17mm easier to use aftermarket replacement , even the simple idea of removing the spark plug cap and blowing the area out with compressed air before replacing the spark plug has made my life easier !!

My next job is to add tank decals and to fit a Dunlop D606 front knobby tyre.

Added some pics too.

Thanks to all again, Cheers and regards, James from Oz .

It has taken a bit of time , money and effort to get it looking ok and useable.

new rear mudguard and number plate plastics from my local Yamaha in Traralgon Victoria, 2 new disc rotors ( eBay from China ) fork gators ( eBay from NZ) , swingarm bearings and linkage parts from my local Yamaha , chain guard (eBay) , chain & sprockets , digital speedo, mirrors and indicators ( eBay from China ) and the list goes on .........!

Most of my past bikes including my current 88 FJ 12 have been Yamaha so I think it's worth the effort !

Cheers. biggrin
