Hello everyone!

I recently acquired a 2000 Yamaha ttr250 with around 5k miles on the clock.

The bike has been made street legal and is really fun to go riding on the road with!

I ended up replacing the sprag with a new one because it was locked up and couldn't get the bike to turn over using the starter. I ran through the top end checking clearances and cam chain. All good!

Looking forward to talking with the resident pros about the ins and outs of these bikes!

Cheers!

 Hey Martyn!

Thanks for the kudos on the seat. It does look better than the stock blue for sure!

The bike needs just a few odds and ends and I'll be super happy with riding it until I have to rebuild it!

Hopefully it will be a while with only 5k miles on the odometer before you'll need a rebuild. Some people are getting big kms (or miles biggrin) out of these wee beasties.

Welcome to the forum BTW. wink

Supposedly the previous owner had the top end rebuilt with a wiseco.

Not totally sure what happened. I did notice the reamed holes for the line up dowels are blown out on the little cover over the front sprocket. Must have blew the chain and it wadded up in the sprocket and destroyed the cover.

Really wanting to find a muffler this thing! Just don't have a brand new one in the budget right now.

Cheers!

-Matthew
