Yep woken up again.... these dam earthquakes are realy

be coming a pain in the ass.... been going on for over

5 years now since the big one that leveled christchurch..

woke up just after midnight to the house rocking around

lasted around 2 mins with another couple smaller ones

later on... the main was a 7.5 magatude... nice little hit that

rolled on for a couple mins...

Not much fall down these days "buildings etc"...everything that could

fall down has long ago...

coast road north is closed road tunnels under tons of rock road fallen

into the sea with cracks in it..rail link north is prob not any better as it follows

the same line as the road around the coastal cliffs...

Kiakoura got the worst of it this time.....

..

Must be a bit rough dealing with earthquakes .

Just saw it on the news looks nasty stay safe

not normaly....
But this one damed the clarance river with a rock slide
water broke though sending a wall of water down the river...
The clarance area is only open 4 weekends a year as it's so gnarly
in there... they wan't to know who's in there...
So will be interesting to see if the wave has clanged it any plus any rock
slides over the track...

The clarance...

Looks like a good ride I've only done a little bit of snow it's hard to find here

Had a three and a half hour deversion on the way home the other day to get round a bit of a fire nothing compared to the ground shaking around though

My heart goes out to you guys in NZ - just watched this http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-asia-37970775

That mess isn't going to be cleared up very quickly - the road is completely obliterated in places cry

Good to hear that you and yours are safe Pete.

Feel like wearing your helmet 24/7?
Glad you're ok. What with Rememberance Sunday, your woes down there, Italy's latest quake and the "American disaster", it's all getting too much! Think I'll go for a ride and count my blessings.
Ride safe,
Simon

Interesting thing is Christchurch had the same earthquake risk as Melbourne before the big one. So there isn't a long history of earthquakes in NZ. Means that the only quake proof buildings are those made in the last few years.

Hope it settles down for you petenz wink
