Plastic in fuel line??

Wasn't getting any gas in my carb so I inspected the fuel line to find a piece of plastic in there

Is there some plastic that's supposed to be in the fuel line to slow it's drip or is this just some random plastic that got pushed in there?

Thanks

There's no restrictor as far as I know. Is the plastic tube and filter assembly on the gas tap breaking up in the tank maybe? What colour plastic? (Sounds like a random question but could help find the source!)
Ride safe,
Simon.

Thanks

It was clear my guess was it was a piece of plastic that made it easier to attach to the gas line but got pressed in there.

Got it out and carb is still not getting fuel so next step is  carb cleaning

you fuel tank has not been leaking by any chance & fuel tank liner been added because modern fuels break down this additive

Might be the filter has broke down, see on these http://totallyttrs.com/epages/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/699105d9-e4cc-4b32-b236-84e72cd67f84/Products/TTR-0254

Sure Bri did a post about it, but can't seem to find itconfuse Was it white plastic? As Simon has suggested?

Steve

Fuel tank is not leaking

It was clearish white most likely what you sent in that pic

Just making sure it wasn't important since I removed it

Some where in the carb is clogged since the bell is still not getting fuel

Thanks for the timely response

There are two white plastic filters on the petrol tap as shown in Steve's photo and the one below.

I can't think what else it might be from. I have seen a case where the plastic on these filters has just crumbled and it could be, if that has happened to yours, that some debris has blocked the little white plastic filter that sits atop the float valve. See http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t45797183/petrol-filter-above-float-needle/

Does no fuel come out if you open the carb bowl drain screw?

No fuel will drain from the carb even if I leave in on for some time

I'll look at it when I get the chance and will let you know
