Cleaning s/s exhaust header

Had a go at mine with Optiglanz.

Great stuff but a bit virulent, so I wrap the nearby engine parts and frame in cling film first.

I don't spray it but pour some in to an old glass and paint it on with a cheap paint brush. Leave for a few minutes then wipe off; actually once you've got rid of most of it give it a good hosing to remove all traces.

If you immediately wash the brush in lots of water it can be re-used.

To do mine I wash the bike down and then rub the pipe with an old bit of wire-wool or similar - it's cheaper. biggrin
