Hi guys, anyone here ran an enduro on a TTR-250 Open Enduro? If not, any hare and hounds riders?

See http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t58858136/ttr-as-enduro-bike/ and http://ttr250.activeboard.com/t60430400/ttr-250/

Entered quite a few enduros on a TTR a while back... The one below is now in Steve's tender care.....

I am sure other owners will chime in wink

Happy to pit crew for you Steve!

The Bratton (Minehead) enduros are a good place to start. Some tracks can be real bike killers no

like you i use to ride a 2010 EC200 Gas Gas in enduro's , the pro 200 class...
Only bought the TTR as it came up real cheap with only 10,000 k on it..
striped it out still do the odd enduro usely in the clubmans class "easy stuff"
Have riden the pro class a few times on it.. But to old for that these days...
more fun trail rides now.....
As a Enduro bike it dose ok... never going win on it... it is a TTR so yer don't exspect to..
I have a Rekluse clutch in mine aswell as trubliss's front and rear... it will climb any thing almost..

i don't intend to part with mine any time soon... they are a great little low mantanince bikes
that are a lot more capable than they look...

Thanks guys......what about tank range?

PS had a lovely 100% standard 2003 300 mile timewarp kdx220 come thru my hands 2 years ago....even the footpegs were almost unmarked....but forgot how wheezy they were, the 200 was always a racier bike but to be fair the 220's were ok on bottom end torque....I should add a TTR feels much stronger in the engine department.

Personally I would half fill the tank at the start and keep the "high up" weight down. Come in halfway for a banana and drink and, depending on what's left in the tank, put in another splash to get you to the end.

I had a KDX200 which I bought to do enduros. Tried it as a trail bike but it wasn't very good as it hated tarmac and would "hunt" all the time.

I soon converted to 4 stroke.

Wow the memories an E series KDX if I'm not mistaken....'89-91 'ish KDX?

I love those easy maintainance features on the older Enduro bikes....decent side stands, the rear snail cams for chain adjustment (TTR as well) and the quick release wheel spindles (TTR rear only on mine) rear mudguard toolbags....things don't always improve with age.

TTR- Thats the first pic' I've seen of a TTR-250 in an enduro setting...keep um comingsmile

I've read they TTR's quite sucessful down under. I did do an Enduro in Blackwood Wales where one guys Katoom 250F went bang (didn't they all?) before the race and he used a TTR-250 he had brought along from somewhere.....the guy was on expert numbers and finished way higher than me, riding in the Sportsman class as it was then...strange race that, there was even a guy on 4T Montesa trials bike and he did OK it was such a tough course and a Honda CRF250X went up in flames!

Good times! I'll be entering the TSCEC sprint enduro next month on the TTR. Never done this before so we'll see how it goes.
