How many Km before service
Permalink

Hi guy's

my name is Giovanni , I live in Australia and i just bought a 2008 TTR 250 .

I am a novice however I never owned a Mortbike before therefore I am looking for some advice on the topic .

I will using my  TTR 250 only for road , I bought an enduro bike because I know they are like tractors 😉 , and as a simple man I just wanted a simple reliable bike to ride me around without too much fuss .

I will ride the bike exclusively on the road / no off road .

I do about 40 km x 4 days at week to commit to work and let's say other 150 km possible less for daily activity .

How often(km)  do you recommend to take it to service .

Thank you

appreciate for the support

Giovanni

Hey Giovanni

The Manual says every 1000km's or 6 months, tho that's for offroad riding where there is alot more stress than just street use.
Easiest/cheapest way is to bulk buy oil and filters and do it yourself.
If you don't already have an owners manual i recommend downloading one, and while you're at it get a service manual just for lite reading :)
plenty of sites have them for free download.

Just for road use I would say every 3000km ish for oil changes is fine, or you can just do it when you feel the gear changes getting a bit clunkier.

Valve clearances will stay in tolerance for thousands of miles.smile
