I have used castrol active 4 for the last ten years its reletivly cheap and it has handled everthing ive thrown at it

used it in my xt 550 tt250 and of course the ttr for the last few years

best part is is cheap enough to change more often if needed

yes ... I change my oil quite often as I have Rekluse clutches in the TTR & XT660R
worryed about clutch fiber in the oil.... never heard it being a issue.... BUT....

Anyway.... just went down & bought two 4 liter containers of Penrite MC 4ST 10W/40...
see how it goes....

Motul is overkill for ttr imo. The TTR was designed to be a rugged, low maintenance machine, unlike those high performance beast that wheelie at 5th gear but require oil change every ride. Think of it as an AK47 of dirt bikes. So I'm sure that if it's not cooking oil, it'll work.

Mine has 160k when I bought it. Previous owner only ever used cheap local brand 4 stroke oil and the thing still does wheelies.

hmmm looks pretty good. Found the Penrite 10-50 Semi Syn in Aus for around $45 - $20 cheaper than the Sikolene 10-40 Semi Syn I use. Think I will buy some and give it a go.

Keep almost buying the Castrol Activ 4 for $35 20-50 mineral then always change my mind!

Thanks for posting

Leigh.
