Rear shock rubber
Permalink

Hi everyone

So I recently bought a ttr and the previous owner had the suspension to a very soft setting. This resulted in the rubber at the bottom of the rear shock that prevents the bike from bottoming out (dont know if im explaining it wrong im a newbie) getting quite worn. Yamaha wants to sell me a total new shock at 11000pula which is 4000pula short of what I paid for the bike. Surely this rubber should be able to fit without replacing the shock?

Also a quick question to Brian will you be able to post to Botswana I can see I'll be doing all my maintenance myself if thats the going rate at yamaha Botswana!

Hey! I think this is the part your looking for, the shock bump stop...

Although you will need a set of spring compressors to get to it.

Hi thanks alot for the reply. Thats the rubber I'm talking about. Sure I'll be able to find a spring compressor somewhere.

Thank you very much. I guess I'll have to make up a nice list then of things that might wear almost like a late christmas box. Other than that the bike is awesome I haven't been able to do a full day ride yet as work is quite busy at the time.

Here's a couple of photos playing around some quarries and dry riverbeds.

Regards

Wynand
