Throttle Snap Back Issue
Permalink

I recently installed some of the venhill long throttle cables, and my throttle now sticks and won't snap back. The issue lies somewhere with the hand control, as when I pull the cables on their own, it all snaps back fine. If I install just the pull cable, all is fine... If I install just the push cable... all is fine.

Even with no cables installed in the tube, it spins freely... It is only when both cables are installed it will not return. Leads me to believe that something is dragging when both cables are installed, but I just cannot find what...

Anyone had similar problems and could shed some light?

Regards, Moo.

you need to set up cables with play in them closed one is fighting the other also the rubber grip make sure it is not tight up against the handlebars when you tighten the two screws to fasten to the handlebars also have you routed the cables correct if not it will rev up on lock to lock

The issue doesn't seem to be with the cables, they both move freely and work correctly when pulled, its only when they are all installed together in the throttle housing that it sticks... Which leads me to believe it's something to do with the plastic covers that hold the cables still in the metal housing rubbing...
