WANTED - REPLACEMENT CARBURETTOR IN AUSTRALIA (preferably)

Yes, yes. I did it. I broke the float pin pillar on my carby whilst attempting to remove the pin. I swear I followed the instructions, but I still broke it. Oh well I need a replacement carby now, of anyone has one lying around in Australia. I'd like to buy a new one but money is tight at the moment

Sorry to hear of the problem!

Good luck on your search for a carb but they do seem to be increasingly rare.

See thread here. Sadly some of Jarrah's pics no longer load but you get the idea.

However, in my view, there is no real pressure on the post so just give it a good de-greasing and pop the broken section of post back on over the pin with a blob of epoxy.

A lot easier than the drilling and screwing methinks.

Brian

Thanks for the replies Brian and Martin. I think I am going to try out the epoxy suggestion. I don't have the tools here to do a good enough job of the repair solution from Jarrah's post. So epoxy it is. I'll be sure to let you all know how it goes regardless of the outcome.

HAPPY NEW YEAR, EVERYONE.

Can you get JB Weld or Chemical Metal in Oz? If so, they will both do the job.

I easily found JB Weld in a store which was on the way to the Yamaha shop - coincidence? I think not, lol.
I'm just waiting for the goo to dry so I can finish the rest of the refit and go BBRAAAARP! 😈
