Riding in the Rift Valley!

Got a couple of photos today from a customer in Kenya - I think these are a first biggrin

They are of his friend so, sorry, not a TTR, but still great pictures taken on the Rift Valley. Apparently 20 minutes ride from Nairobi City Centre and you are in the middle of nowhere!

Pretty epic looking.

Just finished watching the african motorcycle diaries series on travel channel, spencer conway circumnavigates on a 660 tenere.

Awesome stuff.

Spencer took less than a minute to get through some of the countries no

I am enjoying the series but keep feeling we have missed a lot!

I think I have just the final episode to watch.

That Tenere was a bit heavy. He would have been much better off on a TTR wink

Not the best accommodation eh?

I have deleted the earlier episodes to get back a bit of space so can't check. Where did he get shot at?

Yes I imagine he couldnt document every little thing cos he was fairly preoccupied with riding etc. But managed enough for 6 half hour episodes.

The places he stayed were pretty grubby huh, guess he just layed out his sleeping bag on top of some of those dodgy beds to create a bit of a barrier!

He was shot by bandits in northern Kenya.

Yes some quite knarly muddy terrain on the trip wasnt there, I imagine picking up a 200kg tenere got a little bit tiresome after a while rather than say a 160kg 690 enduro or a 130kg ttr250

Morocco looked good!

Yeah not much of a summary at the end was there.

There will probably be more intricate detail in the book.

I liked his shabby look by the end it was funny with his sloppy thrice repaired boots, sand stained textiles and sweaty black vest!

Robin Webb is looking to go to the Western Sahara for his next adventure but that'll be mostly offroad - playing amongst the land mines in the desert no

Robin didn't know about the series.

There was a short bit about the WS on the penultimate episode.
