Here is my 1993 TTR250 for sale.  It is the ideal winter bike or green laner.

Good points:

  • Full 12 months MOT – fully road legal

  • New oil valve stem seals and new piston rings just fitted

  • Lower suspension linkages just fitted with new bushes/bearings/seals etc.

  • New sprag starter clutch fitted last year

  • Oil just changed

  • AC10 tyres are like new

  • Chain, sprockets, wheel bearings and brake pads are ok

  • No seized/rusty nuts and bolts – if it needs to be undone in the course of routine maintenance, it will do so with ease

  • V5 present and in my name

    Bad points

  • The twiddly thing to adjust rear shock damping is seized/broken

  • The battery will be due for replacement soon.  I keep it on the Optimate and it is fine, but if not, will lose its charge in a week.

    Misc:

  • Renthal bars are fitted

  • Hand protectors included – (not currently fitted)

  • Exhaust is badged JMCA and is louder than standard

  • Current gearing is lower than standard but the standard rear sprocket is also included.

  • Frame protectors fitted

I have had the bike for almost 4 years and use it just for pottering about on green lanes.

I don't know the true mileage because the digital odometer reset itself when the battery was last disconnected.  I bought it from a dealer and it had 5815 kms on the clock then.  I have probably done 1200 miles since then.  The speedo and trip meter do work all ok though.  I've got the mot's back to 2009.

It is 22 years old, so don't expect a pristine bike that will run faultlessly forever.  I changed the valve seals and rings because it was burning oil, and the sprag clutch was renewed because it was getting noisy.  The suspension bushes and bearings were changed as they were an advisory at last year’s MOT.  It sailed through the mot this week with no advisories.

Only selling as I have bought a much newer bike, hence it is priced to sell quickly.  Will go on ebay next week

Viewing recommended.  Cash on collection.  I’m near Colchester in Essex.  Can email more pics if needed.

Bugger. The **** who pressed buy now on ebay has not responded to any emails at all. I've cancelled the sale but ebay gives him another 7 days to get in touch. His ebay name is mighty-yam in case he tries buying any other TTR belonging to forum users.

Hi, Is this bike still for sale. I am very interested. When you say that it has lower suspension linkages fitted is that new standard ones or ones that make it lower? Could you please give me a rough idea of the seat height (how tall you are and whether you can comfortably put both feet on the ground would be a help)?
Cheers Jak

The bike isn't lower.  It was the lowest linkages that had new bearings fitted - sorry for the confusion.  I am 5' 10" and manage ok.
