Side Stand Length

I've recently put the original length shock linkage back on my Raid and noticed it now sits really far over on the sidestand... To the point where if there's a small incline i'm worried it will fall over. Is everyone elses like this? On the lowered link it was far happier on the sidestand..

It is likely that the PO shortened the stand when fitting the lowering link else the TTR can stand too upright and blow over in a slight breeze!

If the pivot bolt/fixing is fairly tight then probably the easiest solution is to get nearly an inch of pipe welded in to the stand. Test what length is actually needed by putting different height blocks underneath the stand and checking the height of the block that gives the best "lean" wink

PS I got a couple of full length Raid stands in my spares box - a bit rough and ready - £10 plus carriage if you are interested.

If I may, Moo,

Do you know what the full length side stand should be for my tt250R Open Enduro please?

I did the same as you and put it back to the original size and exactly the same has happened I now go everywhere with a wooden brick. It doesn't look like any bits have been removed/ chopped out/ added at all. but its a big problem for me being partially disabled as I mount from the left peg and let the sidestand take my weight whilst I swing my leg over. With panniers even harder!

Can you not buy a whole new longer one anywehere - Steve do you know please?

Thanks

Mine came with I assume a standard length side stand which left the TTR leaning well over. I spotted a tip from Timolgra and added an ice hockey puck which does work.

There are only two different length side stands.

The OE one with the small foot

The shorted Raid one with a big foot.

I've done as above and have a hockey puck bolted to the bottom. Helps when opening gates offroading as it doesnt sink in. Adds about an inch to the stand, cheap on ebay.

Hi.

I have just fitted a lowering link to mine, but not stood it on the side stand yet,(its on the lift stand), think I may have another little job to add to the list....
