Faulty Speedo or very fast Bike!

Hi folks

I was using the TTR last weekend which I have recently acquired and I noticed that the speedo was reading very very optimistically. I can't find anything about calibration in the manual. Has anyone ever come by this problem and is there a fix?

Thanks

APW

Is your front wheel standard size 21"?

On a 1993 TTR the speedo will be digital - driven off the front sprocket.

This means that the speedo will only be accurate if you are running the standard 14/44 gearing.

There is a device that will allow you to calibrate the speedo and can adjust for whatever gearing you choose and also to convert the speedo from kph to mph if required - see here

Hi
Yes, standard front wheel.
I'm not sure what the front sprocket is but the back one is VERY large. I'll have a look at that device but the fact the sensor is at the sprocket explains a lot.
many thanks
