Fork oil loss...

I replaced the fork seals a few months ago. Went for a few rides. No oil loss.

Having not used the bike for a couple of weeks I gave it a quick check before going on holiday (on another bike) no issues. Returned from holiday to find about an egg cup full of oil had leaked from one leg? I gave it a clean. Went for a decent green lane ride yesterday. This morning shows no oil loss.

A little oil crying out due to being left while I was away?

A sign of an impending leak?

Ignore it but keep a watchful eye?

Replace the seal anyway?

Odd confuse

Did it definitely leak out through the seal?

Might be worth letting any air out of the Schrader valves to make sure the legs aren't pressurised.

And, yes, keep an eye on it wink

Well, the oil came from under the gaiter so... Good tip about the valves. Cheers.

Yes, keep an eye on it!  As for fork air pressure, I found a very accurate digital low pressure gauge marketed by "Slime" tire products in the USA that I use to be sure not too much pressure is applied.  Suggested pressure is 5.7 PSI, USA specs, the gauge also does BAR, kPa.  http://slime.com/512/products/0-120-psi-digital-tire-gauge-20187/  Cost me 10.00 US $.  Also great for lowering pressure for loose sand conditions.

It can be a bit of dirt under the seal if you stick the end of a zip tie in under the seal and slide it round it will get most of it out works really well on upside down forks as well
