Hi Brian is there a reason for the shorty, other then Performance, perhaps better ground clearance for obstacles hitting the exhaust causing damage cheers Phil

Hi Phil

Performance plus they are a nice bit of bling - I hadn't considered that they also improve ground clearance so thanks for pointing that out wink

It also helps long distance self supporting adventure overlanding as it gives space to mount a tool kit/lock/stand combo on the lower front frame tube - see Robin Webb's TTR on the Salt & Gold DVD.

Our shorty pipes are virtually identical to the performance pipe that CRD developed back in the day except that ours improves on their design by having the captive nuts for the exhaust guard biggrin

Hi Phil

If you haven't made any other alterations to your TTR then the existing set up should be fine. If you have to take the carb off at some point in the future then it might be worth lifting the needle one clip to see if that gives a bit of extra oomphwink

Makes your bike more attractive.

I have opened the airbox a little and am running a staintune.
