Pireli MT43 fitment on rear

How do the 4.0 18s fit? I currently have a 110 100 18 IRC VE40 that has chewed my mudflap a little. I wonder if I would need another link in my chain.

I run a Pirelli MT43 on the rear of my TTR and find it ideal for Devon's lanes and roads.

I run with 14:52 sprockets and use a 112 link chain.

The adjusters are between mid way and fully back to give the tyre sufficient clearance to miss the mud flap.

The tyre does rub the flap if the wheel is really forward ~ It's got holes to prove it. wink

That is the only issue with changing tyre sizes or playing around with sprockets etc, tires often wont go in! You need to have clearance there to begin with, always make sure you leave enough room when fitting a chain. Doesn't matter too much if you are fairly high up on the adjusters because in my experience a dirtbike chain wont be on there long enough to stretch past full adjustment.. smile

I keep a shortened mud flap to "run in" new tyres. MT43s are particularly tall.

The mudflap I use is long enough to protect the shock absorber when sitting on the bike and saves shredding a good full mudflap.

MotoZ has a lower aspect ratio than a "trials tyre".... DOT rated...
120/100/18....

Possably better than a MT43 which is very old tec now..

But have been the only true trials tread patten tyre that could be

used on the road till now....

I put a Dunlop 803 that I took off my trials bike on a XR250 &

melted the rubber in a 10km ride...

MotoZ..................
slavensracing.com/shop/mountain-hybrid-by-motoz/

i think there will be a lot more of the trials tread patten tyres

coming on the market from now on..... about time ...
