A Friday evening pootle around East Cornwall
Permalink

On Friday I finished work and got home and fitted my sat nav to my bike and then decided to go for a little pootle down towards Looe to test it out. It worked fine bar a few little issues that were solved using Cable Ties (the unit moved on the handle bars so I tied in back to the headlamp fairing, and the cigarette lighter power unit kept working its way out, so I cable tied that in place). As it was working I went into Looe for Fish and Chips (sorry., no pasty) and I then ventured onto a few of the lanes on the way back and it all worked great....until I stuffed myself in a hedge while going through a rather large bog. The sat nav continued to work fine, but I am now in need of a new brake lever and a offside mirror.

A lovely evening out all the same though and I even got a few photosIMG_5920.JPGIMG_5921.JPGIMG_5922.JPGIMG_5923.JPGIMG_5924.JPGIMG_5925.JPGIMG_5930.JPGIMG_5932.JPGIMG_5933.JPGIMG_5936.JPGIMG_5937.JPGIMG_5938.JPG.

Looks nice, Nigel.

Your lanes look very inviting with loads of good views.

The vegetation looks colourful, much like Devon's with blue bells and red campion.

The wet muddy one has been recently rebuilt in one area. In a bad winter the stream rerouted itself down the track and washed away bits of it completely away leaving some very big holes (waste deep!), but someone has taken the time to build it all back up again.
And yep some lovely twisty roads from Plymouth down to Looe and also carrying on to Torpoint. Back in my sports bike days those roads were used regularly, but over the last few years the fun has been taken out of them a bit due to heavy Police presence and every man and his dog playing Rossi along them.

And yep the TTR still looks lovely, I have had random strangers come and talk to me about it a few times now.

Always good when someone takes the time to do a repair job to the lane and stop the council from sticking a T.R.O on it. smile
