Strata Florida Trip - TTR Survives a drowning!

Hello all just returned from a trip across the Strata Florida (Wales) and Elan Valley! What an amazing place!! Fully recommend it to anyone!

However I did drown the bike fell off, and bike went right under! In the first 10 miles...

BUT after a drain out, filter change, carb rebuild and clean, and oil change all on the lane it completed another 80 miles!! What a star of a bike!

Here are some pictures!

Yes its a fantastic area, been many times. I like the pull handle on the TTR's forks.
Last week in June me and my mate are doing a week starting from Bishops Castle (Shropshire) then moving on evey 2 nights. Rayhader, Snowdonia etc. Riding on/off road incl Claerwen and other lanes..

I said card re-build we stripped it down first as jets got blocked with muddy slime. Grab handle made at work using some high strength webbing, industrial heat shrink. Then clamp on using metal strips, nuts and bolts. Worked a treat.

My mates planned the road routes and ive done the off road stuff. I know most of the lanes around Shropshire and just over the border into Wales, likewise with Elan Valley area .
Others that ive never been on are near Bala and a couple around Snowdonia.

I looked at them lanes Pete but might be to hard for our Teneres. Make sure you do the Claerwen Reservoir though Pete its very good and the water crossings fun when deep...

I will do that one on the way up then. They are quite technical lanes maybe you could do those ones on your ttr sometime.

Theres another good Byway near to the Claerwen that leads down to the next reservoir thats worth doing but beware of the very slippy ford at the start..

I'm quite sure it's closed Pete. It's a shame as it don't even get used by many walkers either, so putting a tro on it seemed pointless. I'll try find out for.definite.

I'll leave it up to my mate Pete, if he wants to do it we'll go for it. I done it on a Transalp years ago but the water crossings wasn't deep.

Yeah some rain spells before hand and it turns into a bit of a deep torrent there don't it. I'm thinking of doing it this year, my mate doesn't want it to be too deep cos his serow snorkel is little bit lower than TTR's.. And nor do I really!...smile
