sticking petrol cap

anyone else had a petrol cap that sticks tight to the tank.  Went to get some petrol the other day and could not unscrew the cap.  Get a pair of stillsons on it and unscrewed.   After a few days it was again very difficult to undo.  Ha been OK in the past.

Perhaps the threads have got a bit "cruddy". hmm

Try wiping the tap and tank threads then wiping with a smear of greasing or oil.

Is the rubber seal in good condition? confuse

yes the were cruddy but with the fuel varnish. good clean up an a coat of cycle oil and now fixed. Thanks
