Hi dija. I use, and have mostly used, 15W50 full synthetic, and change it religiously every 1000km. However, in the interest of commonality I now use Yamalube 15W-50 mineral oil. It seems fine, though it does use a bit more than the synthetic stuff. But it's done a lot of km, so who cares? Bike still sounds like new. Amazing.

A Yamaha dealer once advised me to use semi-synthetic so that you can use either synth or min in an emergency - I love a good oil thread

I dont know about you guys but on this side of the pond we use rotella t6. its cheap at walmart and its clutch safe.

www.amazon.com/Rotella-550019921-Synthetic-Diesel-Engine/dp/B005CHT4W6

I change my oil very often, after 2 or 3 days of riding offroad. its cheap, easy and I enjoy doing it.
