Nice surprise to see that photo Martyn! It was actually taken on Daytona Beach in 1997 with the lovely Trish (aka Mrs TTR) enjoying our honeymoon biggrin

I think my TTR250 journey started with my step-daughter Kerrie buying a Raid back in approx 2000. It was a great bike but got stolen twice and we never recovered it the second time. I liked Kerrie's Raid and it was really nice and civilised compared to my ride at the time - a Kawasaki KDX200. A pic of her tidy Raid below:

After looking for a long while I eventually found an Open Enduro in 2001 and haven't looked back since!

It is number 106 in the pic below lined up at the start of an enduro at Minehead. The TTR was great for enduros, trail riding or simple road work. The electric start was the biggest bonus!

Got a tad dirty in the process:

I sold this TTR to my mate Adrian "Biker" Harris who still has it. Together with a mate, we imported two new blue TTRs back in 2003. This was mine after it had seen a bit of use:

I kept it alongside a brand new 2004 TTR that I bought from eBay until I sold it in December 2012. My 2004 TTR below:

It wasn't very long after I bought my first TTR that I found there was very little information available so I started a Group on Yahoo in June 2001.

Any information gleaned from the Group, or learned by doing jobs on the TTR myself, got put into a simple web page which I called the TTR250 FAQ. It looks very dated now but is kept up to date as best I can.

I became aware of the friendlier Activeboard forum software and started this forum in July 2011 and I reckon it works pretty well with a great bunch of owners contributing both questions and answers wink

Sorry to have rambled on a bit but thanks Locky for giving me an excuse to dig out some old pics biggrin

Brian

Thats a great story with nice history Brian, thanks for a detailed answer and pics. I was just curious to your TTR backgound. I'm sure many will be interested in this thread.

You remind me of one of the BeeGee's in the pic that Cubber posted biggrin

I think we have all fallen in love with our ttr's haven't we, but Brian has taken his enthusiasm that bit further and done something awesome with it in the form of these forum and FAQ pages. Which is great. I wonder do people fall in love with their ktm's and husabergs etc in quite the same way? How many ttr's is that now you have been in posession of in the past 13 years Brian?
