A bit about myself. Been riding all my life and im on the good side of 50, i ride a Yamaha xt660 Tenere and a Suzuki DL 650 . The Tenere gets used for riding to and on trails while the DL 650 spends most of it's time on the road. I tend to get out riding quite a lot and the Tenere gets a lot more use than the DL, theres a few of us that get together on a regular basis and head for trails/byways in central England. I'm a regular on a few forums and a MOD on the 2 forums i spend the most time on.

Iv'e been reading this forum for a few days as im drawn towards buying a TTR 250. It would mainly get used for local trails/lanes and would probably trailer it to mid Wales on the odd occasion.

It's a bike that seems fit for what i want if for and i like its simplicity, they seem to have enough power (28bhp correct me if wrong) and cheap to run.

I still have a lot to read on the forum and i think i'll be asking many questions ..Thanks smile

Welcome, Andy.

The bog standard TTR, according to the blurb, provides 28bhp at 8,500 rpm.

It has a torque of 2.8kg at 7,000 rpm.

Not a lot, but more than ample to provide thrills in the rough - they're more capable in the rough than I ever profess to be. smile

Take the plunge and sample one. You won't regret it.

Martyn
