Generator cover needle bearing - do I need this?

Do I need to reuse this bearing in the new stator cover or does the new c cover come with the bearing installed. I don't see the bearing listed in the parts diagram. Thank you.

It doesn't come with a new cover but it is possible to press the old one out if need be - but do it carefully!

This is what you get with a new cover - just the bare cover:

Thanx brian. You are like my overseas TTR tech support. I appreciate you and your time so much. Thank you again.

I was able to press the old bearing out with a 11mm socket and a hammer. It was unharmed but I'm concerned about getting it into the new case without damaging the case or bearing. I checked and a 5/8 socket fits over the bearing perfectly so I'm trying to work out a way of pressing it into the new case without a hammer. I'm not sure my vise will be able to accommodate it so I think I may try a c-clamp or buy a bigger vise. I never had a need for a vise before but now I use it all the time bending my busted parts back with this TTR so I might just get a better vise.

I need this bike up and running for the following weekend.

When pressing it back in cool the bearing in the fridge or freezer. And warm up the casing

Smaller bearing bigger hole biggrin
