I was going through a field of high grass and a huge rock jumped in front of my bike. I was almost able to avoid it but it caught my bike.

Ends up being a 200$ mistake

I wasn't hurt and the bike will be fine. I just missed my whole day of riding no

Totally agree. I was with a group on a two-day Welsh trail riding adventure and on the 1st morning a guy came off and holed his crankcase cover with the gear lever. The run leader had some of the magic putty and we were soon back on the trails. As far as I remember the guy eventually sold the bike with the "temporary" repair still working wink

It would have been tragic to have gone out on the first morning.

I confess that I don't carry the putty and rely on a strong bashplate.

Yah I've been spending too much money lately so I was holding off on the skid plate. Lesson learned i guess.

That is a great idea of using the metal putty. I will definitely take that advice. Thank you.
