Went riding saturday bike ran great as always. Get up the next day, its 40 f outside, tried to start, only the starter turned . choked it and the same. So now i am late for work. Drive car.  Get home  pull the spark plug and no spark. Checked starter switch, took apart and cleaned. Unpluged most connections re pluged, nothing.  But a circuit tester, i have no multi meter. I have no power to coil. Dont like to bring to mechanic . What or where should i check. I dont or cant find neutureal swicth? Help there is still lots of riding to be done

Hi Brett and sorry to hear of your problem.

Lots of info about the neutral light and switch here but, if your starter is turning the engine over it must be OK so you need to look elsewhere.

You have done the obvious by checking the connections but here is a page from the workshop manual with 10 procedures to follow:

Have you a copy of the workshop manual so that you can see the various voltages, resistances, etc., to be checked?

If so, you will need to borrow a multimeter and then run through the checks.

Don't overlook the kill switch they can give a bit of trouble if full of dust and moisture  did it play up after it was washed

i put my brain and multi meter to work, and the manual. the coil read .5, and the the secondary coil read 15, so does this mean to get a new coil?
