Rear caliper pins - more than one part?

I had a query from a customer this morning who had bought a rear caliper slide pin and rubber repair kit - all genuine Yamaha parts.

The new pin (part # 3SP-25926-51) has an extra shoulder - see pic below:

We have sold quite a few of these kits (see here) and not had a query before. I have also fitted a few and hadn't come across this difference. Has anyone else please?

I tried looking the parts up on the Yamaha fiche but the pins aren't shown - only complete caliper brackets at a silly high price no

However, the part number of the caliper bracket is the same from 1993 through to 2007 so my assumption is the pin and its hole are the same throughout confuse

Can anyone throw any light on this please?

Brian

Probably not much help Brian, but my REAR caliper has one pin with the shoulder on it. with a flat on one side to match the hole in the caliper.

As I said, probably not much help, if so just ignore me hmm

Does the new one screw in fully to the original shoulder?
