Tail Tidy For Aussie TTR's

Hi All

Here's the tail tidy I made today

1.6mm Aluminium cut to these dimensions

I used the original Tail Light and reflector

This is of course only for the Aussie Number plates

Adjust the size for other places

Here it is drilled in the appropriate places, cleaned up, rubber grommet inserted and bent ready to bolt in place

Lights, Number plate, Reflector bolted into position

I used the original rubber seal at the back of the light as well, just had to trim a little bit off to allow for the rubber grommet

And finally installed

I think I'll make the bit with the reflector on it a bit smaller and clip the corners off as well.

Hi Steve just wondering why you had to fabricate up a tail tidy in the first place?

Not sure what you are asking

Do I need one ?
or
Did I make it because you can't buy one ?

Anyway, It's somewhere to put the number plate, lights etc... it also acts as a mud flap

it makes the bike legal on the road

Number plates wrapped around the rear mudguard are illegal

Does that Help ?

My Tail tidy snapped off a couple of weeks ago, I was really happy with the design but I only made it from a 1.6mm aluminium scrap

The first one broke at the bend, this time I bent it around a piece if 12mm steel rod to curve it a bit rather than a sharp bend

I now have a 3mm one, it's nice and solid

Seems to work OK
