Wavy or Standard; best disc brake rotors?

Fancy fitting some Wavy discs to my TTR, but when asking about I have had a mixed response to the idea in general. Just wondered if owners who have fitted Wavy discs have found an improvement, and under what conditions?

One silly question - brake grease - where do you put it and more important where don't you put it. In general I don't use any form of lubricant near brakes.

Thanks in advance

Interesting question on the wavy v. non-wavy discs smile

I use the red brake grease on caliper slide pins and rubbers.

I use copper slip on pad pins

Thanks Brian, Yep I assumed Wavy were better in mud, as I had problems with my Quad front discs on muddy shoot days with little braking and was told Wavy cleared the mud. Then a local MX rider said he found no advantage with Wavy - maybe his tracks were not so muddy?  The other aspect is grades of pads, again I assume it's not simply looking at graphs - I found my TTR with pads from Brian performed well after wet/mud.

Still my TTR discs are 1000% better than the drum brakes on my old B40 trail bike. I remember being on the Isle of Man during the 1972 TT week after doing a few trails then riding through Douglas, when a traffic cop put his arm out for me to stop - with brakes full of mud all I could do was duck under his arm and keep goingbiggrin

wave rotor design is to stop warping when hot...
When a disc heats up it warps as there is nowhere for
it to exspand to... A straight bar will exspand end wise
but a disc has no ends... so it warps...
The wave design gives areas for it to exspand into..
So wheather you need them on a dirt bike really depends
on how hot you get the discs.... On a road bike yes... I'm
not so shaw a dirt bike really needs them...
but they do look kool.... I have wave rotors on my XT66R..
