Indicator, winker or flasher relay on white TTR250 OEs
Permalink

Hi, i need help with my 1996 ttr oe. i originally wanted to install led indicators so i did and replaced the relay as well. the indicators were crap and i just bought some tungsten ones but when i replaced the relay i pulled the pins from the plug on the adapter to the old relay and now i don't know the original sequence.

all i need is someone who can tell me which coloured wire goes to whichever letter on the original flasher realy. i've tried guessing but that shorted it about 3 times. any help is really counted on.

THanks.

Hi Stephen and welcome to the forum!

If no-one else replies beforehand I will try and look tomorrow. I don't have an OE here at the moment but I may have a bit of a loom with the relay connector on that I can check.

The blue TTRs use the relay part number 4MY-83350-01-00 which seems to be the FE246BH 12v 2-pin unit.

As I understood it the white metal-tanked OEs used the 3-pin relay part number 3TY-83350-00 capable of running the hazards - hence the extra wire. This seems to have been the FB222M relay unit.

The current Yamaha parts fiches show that part number 3TY-83350-00 has been superseded by 4GY-83350-00.

However, Google images show Yamaha part boxes or packets with the 4GY-83350-00 part number but with the contents showing either the FE246BH or FE218BH confuse

So maybe it's not possible to buy the relay that will run the hazards any more? Not that I ever used them on purpose - only occasionally putting them on accidentally disbelief

I am now convinced they are all interchangeable despite the different ratings on them!
