2002 Low Mileage Yamaha TTR250 For Sale

Rare opportunity to buy a Yamaha TTR250 trail bike with only 10,790 miles on the clock!

Reliable and economical 250cc four stroke with 6 gears- the perfect dual purpose commuter/trail bike.

First registered February 2002. MOT (full MOT - not a "daylight" one) until 30th March 2013 and taxed to end January 2014. The bike comes with the original handbook and spare key.

  • Renthal Dakar High handlebars with new Polisport wrap-around handguards and new grips.
  • MITAS C19 front and MT43 road-legal tyres.
  • Bashplate and new Works Connection frame guards.
  • Electrical connection on bars for GPS etc.
  • Just had an oil and filter change, new rear brake pads, chain slider, top and bottom shock bearings fitted.
  • A new sprag clutch has been fitted - mainly as a precautionary measure.
  • Dual start - electric AND kickstart
  • The TTR has a proper ignition switch (unlike many enduro bikes) plus steering lock
  • Full speedo and idiot light cluster with speedo in kph
  • Fully adjustable suspension front and rear to suit your riding style
  • Suitable for someone who has passed the A2 as less than 33 kW.
  • A lower seat option is available plus a further 2" can be lost with a lowering link

A good example of this sought-after bike. It starts and runs well.

I bought this bike as one of a pair with a mate who imported them as they weren't being sold here in the UK at the time. I won an MCC Triple Award on it in 2003 and, other than the occasional LDT, it has been used solely for green laning. I liked it enough to buy another new TTR250 in 2004 and this TTR went on holiday to a mate who, unfortunately, was unable to use it much and so I bought it back. I have kept it taxed, MOTd and insured for my son to use but, sadly, he hasn't been able to for 3 years so its time for it to go.

The TTR has been carefully maintained but bears the usual scuffs and scrapes from green laning!

All spares are readily available by mail order from somewhere like Fowlers or over the counter at your local Yamaha dealer. Very little changed other than cosmetics between 1993 and 2004 so there are no worries about getting the correct spare part as can be the case with Honda XR250s etc.

There is a good range of after-market accessories for the TTRs see http://www.totallyttrs.com/ . Lots of information on this very popular and sought after bike at www.ttr250.com

There is also a very active owners group here.

Very economical and will do a day's trail riding on a tank of petrol. Plus it has an "all-day" comfy seat unlike more enduro-based machines.

The TR250 is a perfect beginner's trail bike but also suitable for the more experienced rider who realises that it isn't necessary to have a big engine to enjoy themselves on Devon's technical lanes.

There are a few cheaper TTRs around but the choice is yours. This one is in very good order - you won't be disappointed!

Excellent value at £1,750

Cash on collection preferred please.

I don't suppose you would be interested in part exchanging an earlier model would you? Its a 1998 OE I have just bought, so don't know too much about it, is has 10 months mot and some history. Just thought I would ask.

Hi Stuart.

Sorry but I am trying to reduce my fleet and make a bit of room here hence any bike not being used will have to go!

Also, transport between Exeter and Cheshire would be a killer - probably at least £120 for each journey - which would make a deal uneconomic in any case cry

Cor, that's a looker.

If I had a spare £1,750 I'd have that from you - as you say it's excellent value.

And here's me avidly saving up all my pocket money and loose change. frustrated.gif

I've managed to save £17.50 already. Now what can I do with it? confuse

I must admit, in all seriousness, whisper.gif you have done another wonderful turn out on that TTR, Mr TTRfan.
