Oh.....lol you mean front brake lever switch. wink

Take it apart & clean it. Then check for power in the switch wires. There should be constant power in one wire (when ignition is on) & the other wire only power when the front brake is applied.

In the UK, there is a requirement that if either the front or rear brake is used, the rear brake light is illuminated. This is usually accomplished on the front brake by the use of a switch (part number 4GY-82917-00-00) that is operated when the brake lever is pulled in wink

My front light brake light switch has go all Italian on me it's always been abit dodgy but worked all times and recently just not worked at the rear brake switch is fine so not bulb or rear light itself, the main fuse other day did blow and since then hasn't worked.

First thing is check the engine mounts are tight. Then check swingarm *bearings  (term correct). Next wheel bearings. Finally supsension linkage.

After that i guess it's a wild goose chase to see where the vibration is coming from.

thanks guys will have a look into it, one other thing not sure if it's the knobblie tyre but you get the bike above 65 odd and seem to get a lot of vibrations throught the foot pegs

front sprocket was loose not even finger tight, all sorted and bikes back to its lunatic self again Yipee, cue me drifting round corners now lol or trying too

Awesome glad you found it. I knew there was something missing from my list of things to check wink Did'nt expect that one though. It has a locking tab so has never came loose on me.
The rear sprocket is one i should have mentioned as this has happened to me before no

it did have the tab washer on but still very loose had a garage change the sprockets and chain but looks they forgot something, only thing worry me is I got it tight as I could with a large adjustable wrench but tab washer stopped on corner of the nut so bent it round that should be okay but loads better than before.

Hi all, how do you remove the front brake switch to inspect it? I normally end up snapping these sorts of things so thought it better to ask first.

Twist and pull? Unscrew? Just yank it?

   I cannot find part # 4GY-82917-00-00.  I c an locate 4GY -82917-01-00. The clutch lever switch for starting.  Are those interchangeable???

Yes, part # 4GY-82917-01-00 has superseded the other part number smile
