It's been glorious weather recently.

I have been out around my local trails and can report that it's been very pleasant.

I'll bet a few of us will know one of the places I went. biggrin

Long may it last.

Lovely view of Sidmouth but could you see Portland Bill today? Looked a bit misty...

Certainly beats the heck out of replacing the roof on the garden shed no

What a beautiful photo. It could be a TTR / Totally TTR's publicity shot!

Looks like California to me, but if you say Devon in March then I'll (just) believe you :)

Cracking photo that Martyn have already emailed my riding pal to try and tempt him into making a trip down south.

I'm sure the last photo of your bike showed it having a hole in the left hand side of the engine casing.

Thanks for the compliments chaps - it IS a place in Devon just east of Ladram Bay at the top of a hill overlooking Sidmouth. smile

It was taken 11:30am on 27th March 2012 and it was a tad hazy towards the horizon.

The hole in the engine casing, Colin, was not mine. I saw the picture on a local TRF site run report and just showed it to illustrate what some TTR owners do to their machines. cry

I do believe that Mr TTR has sorted new casings for the unfortunate rider and I presume repairs are being executed. wink

The Devon TRF Group run a weekend of trail riding for visitors from other TRF groups. It's called the Teign to Tamar - see http://www.trfdevon.org.uk/events12/dtrf_flyer1_2012_T2T.pdf

Members of the Devon TRF Group lead a number of groups and the feedback has always been excellent. I have led a group in the past but don't seem to have that much free time these days. Haven't been out in ages!

Worth putting the T2T in your diary for next year and book early coz it fills up quickly.

Some random pics from my last T2T below including me being chased by a grumpy swan. Another shows why my bro' got the nickname of Trout Tickler wink

Hi Just OS Mapped the area pictured. Are you riding the south west coast path?

I have kept off that type of legend (green diamonds) for fear of having bike impounded.Try to only ride green crosses (boats) not always that easy though.

Many Thanks

Hi Tim, I presume you checked and refer to the location of the first picture in this thread. aww

If you have OS maps scaled 1:25000, the location is shown on map OL20, South Devon.

At this scale, most trails are shown as green round dots and are called "Other routes with public access" - in TRF terms known as ORPA. confuse

The lane I used for the shot is called Bar's Lane and can be found at SY 09453 05625 to SY 10420 86255, Sea View Farm up to High Peak.

High Peak is the position of the picture looking eastward towards Sidmouth, in the middle distance. It is "The Scenic Shot" for this neck of the woods. biggrin

You show remarkable concern, Matt. wink

The black, blue, yellow and ugly black eye is now recovered with no vestige of evidence, save for the original debatedly attractive visage. biggrinbiggrin

Theres a lot of things I really miss about England, and I'll probably end up moving back at some point. I was just reading the thread above about where you can go and where you cant go, and "impounding" of bikes if you go to the wrong places...... I doth my cap in respect to you, isnt it funny how we destroy some peoples rights trying to protect others? trust me Im an environmentalist by heart, I work in the clean energy business , but that just sounds crazy........

Matt (my 2pence worth for the day is complete!)
