the ones that finish in Q are quieter. Any by this i mean they are still loud but quieter than non Q ones.

if you havent heard any form of performance exhaust they are REALLY LOUD. so if i was riding anywhere people will be i would get the Q one.

Hi,

There are many kinds of FMF PowerCore 4 exhaust systems, and I am confused as to which one would be the best fit for my 1996 TTR 250.

It would be great if you could provide me with an exact reference number or part number. The prices range from $150 to $250 but they all look the same to me!

Thank you for your replies

Best

Joe HC

Great, thank you for letting me know. I had no idea as to what the Q letter meant.

So among all of the powercore 4 exhausts, should i pick any particular one? there are more than 30 available on Amazon

Thanks again,

Best

We bought the Powercore FMF. Way too noisy and had to get a modification done to them to preserve our eardrums. Had Brian had his TTR exhaust on the market at the time we would have purchased that instead.

Yeah lin, that one would probably be the only one that is obnoxiously loud. seriously. my staintune is loud as hell with the baffle out, but then i dont care. i like the power it gives and i dont ride it around the streets really, i ride my ducati on road trips.

Okay its a XT 250 and a Kwak comparison but this may be of interest to anyone tossing up twixt an FMF Q4 or an FMF PowerCore exhaust....am unsure as to whether the contributor is correct however regarding the comparative dBA increase one one to another....I always thought that an increase of 6dBA doubled the sound pressure.....he is only talking about an overall increase of 60% in this piece.....

Personally, I preferred the PowerCore sound.....

They both sound nice but at the moment I'm enjoying the quietness of the standard can and so are my neighbors at 6.30am. It makes a change from the Tuono which is loud even with the db killer in

Just discovered that there is a 'noise reducing insert' available as an optional extra from FMF for the PowerCore exhaust muffler......$39.95 .......
