What is standard gearing on the Raid?

14 44 was pretty good on the road Brian. The high max speed of around 130km/h means when cruising the freeway the bike isnt revving its guts out.

Even when i went down one on the front it was ok, but 14 44 would be good for someone doing mostly road work.

My Raid had a 15tooth front and 48 rear (428pitch obviously) when I bought it, afraid I cannot confirm if this is standard though.

Thanks Mark - I think you may be right as I had a few requests for 15 tooth front sprockets which must have been for Raids. 15-44 would be very high gearing so 15-48 sounds right.

I can't find Raid specs on the interweb and don't have access to an owners manual no

Anyone else able to confirm 15-48?

Brian

The 15tooth 428 front sprocket is actually SMALLER than the 13tooth 520 sprocket - this causes one hell of a havoc when you "upgrade" to the 520 pitch set whilst trying to change the gearing - it gets awfully confusing!

Crikey - makes me wonder how a 15 tooth 520 sprocket would fit in the gap!

I think I will recommend 14-44 gearing for the 520 chain as its going to be mostly road use.

This is a detailed spec. sheet for a 1999 Raid

CLICKY THINGY

It says that his sprockets are 57:18

There's a lot of information for the bike here.
