Hi All,

Graduated to a TTR from a Serow about 8 months ago.

Generally bimbling around my local (Northants, Leicestershire, Warwickshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire) lanes on weekdays throughout the year. (Can't ride at weekends normally which rules out local TRF runs unfortunately)

Company always welcome but be prepared to have your brain picked for maintenance & repair tips - I am not the most talented of mechanics!

Regards,

Dick

Hi Dick

I too have just moved from a Serow to the TTR,  how do you find the TTR compared to the Serow?

Hi Colin,

The Serow was my first trail bike - chosen for their good reputation and low height...I knew I would be riding on my own most of time and I wanted a bike I stood a chance of stepping off rather than falling off & easily get both feet down for a bit of 'paddling'. Weight-wise I wanted one I could easily pick up or push off me without assistance.

The Serow was brilliant but after a while I felt more confident and wanted to move upwards & onwards to a new challenge.

The TTR was an obvious progression - recommended by Marianne at Trail-Ride Wales and by Lois! - after a couple of months I ceased to notice the higher ride and appreciated the extra few mph on the road sections.

To start with I had a few silly offs when stationary - eg at gates - when leg failed to clear rear of bike - injuries from a big off on my road bike have left me with reduced movement though in fairness I am built for the front row rather than the wing biggrin

After 8 months I am totally happy with the way I fit the bike and am slowly pushing it & me along the path of improvement.

So, not a very scientific comparison - but I love my TTR !

My goals are to become a better mechanic & thus more self-sufficient and to do some longer trips in the UK & abroad - I fancy that Trans-Am route !

Cheers,

Dick
