2005 TTR For Sale in Manchester -- SOLD SOLD SOLD

Here’s my blue TTR250. It’s a completely sorted trail bike with all the kit on it that you want for UK offroading. No need to spend any more money on parts, just get out there and ride it.

It’s a pukka UK-supplied bike so has electric & kick start, and speedo in mph.

It was first registered 04/2005 and has had three mature owners from new (including me). I bought it in Feb 2010 with 5373 miles on the clock.  Now has 7320 which is still pretty low. I didn’t have a trailer so the majority of the additional 2000 miles were on the road.

It’s mechanically spot on. It has been 100% reliable and the engine is quiet with no trace of the TTR starter gear problem. I’ve looked after it as per the service schedule and done oil and filter changes every 600 miles, air filter cleaned, valve clearances etc etc. Changed the fork oil when I got it and bled both brakes 500 miles back. Note that the exhaust pipe looks rusty in the pix but it’s just the remains of burned-on mud.

The previous owner had it fully serviced at 4208 miles including stripping and cleaning the carb (and a few new parts for the carb), and lubricating the suspension linkages and headset. He also stuck plenty of waxoyl on exposed and hard-to-reach parts so there’s quite a bit of that here and there.

The usual recommended minor performance mods have been done: throttle stop adjustment and exhaust header restrictor (see www.ttr250.com). That’s all though – the airbox and jetting are standard.

It comes with all the old MOTs, some service history and invoices, spare key and owners manual + service manual on CD. And full original tool kit.

BITS

Flexible number plate fitted for trail riding (road legal size)

Kouba rear lowering link.

Top quality B&B bashplate. The gaps are filled with heat-resistant foam to reduce mud build-up.

TTR chain case saver from Totally TTRs.

2 x frame protectors, brand unknown.

Acerbis hand guards.

K&N air filter. K&N cleaning fluid and tin of oil supplied.

Heavy duty Michelin inner tubes.

Spares include: mirror, standard suspension link, handguards, sprocket cover, standard bashguard tube, indicators and a few other bits.

CONSUMABLES

Fitted new front disc and pads immediately after purchase. Front brake had been binding on a bit, so the disc was prematurely worn. Gave the piston a bit of a clean and some red rubber grease, bled the brakes and has been fine ever since. Front and rear discs barely worn and plenty of life in pads.

Replaced bottom shock bearing with All Balls kit before the last MOT.

Back tyre nearly new, front is pretty worn but I will supply a brand new front tyre with the bike.

Currently have 14-45 gearing fitted which is a decent road/trail compromise. Chain and rear sprocket are getting to end of life but a good few trips left in them. Front sprocket is fine. The standard chain and sprockets are in good condition and will also be supplied as spares.

BAD BITS?

Not much. The graphics are a bit rough in places and there’s the usual set of cosmetic scratches and dings from trail riding use.

There is a small rip in the back corner of the seat that I’ve taped up. A genuine new US-sourced blue CEET seat cover will come with the bike – along with a small roll of blue gaffer tape.

The same inconvenient branch took out the tool bag on the way to ripping the seat hence no tool bag fitted, but the screws are in place if the new owner wants one.

Finally, the indicator thumb toggle widget disappeared halfway through my ownership. Would be simple enough to make something up, but as there are no indicators fitted, why bother?

 -------------

I’m looking for £1800 ovno including all parts and spares listed above. Buyer collects from South Manchester.

It’s currently SORNED. I will put a year’s MOT on the bike when a sale is agreed and a £200 deposit paid – or knock the cost of an MOT off the purchase price.

PM me and I can send my mobile number if you want to find out more. I’ll be posting it up elsewhere when I get a minute and then eBay next week so do get in touch soon if you are interested.

Thanks for reading!
