Hello from the USA... I spent a few week in the Shropshire midlands, and a few days in Shrewsbury. The locals seemed to pronounce it "Shrowsbry" though... I'm sure the spelling is correct though.

Beautiful countryside, and the people are very friendly with Americans. Had a great time walking to the pubs, visiting with the locals for hours, having a few pints of Murphys and then stumbling back to the nearby B&B.

You must have spent time with people from the posh side of the river Blightconfuse. Us mere mortals say it how its spelt ... a shrew is a shrewwink. Glad you enjoyed your visit. You'll have to bring your bike next time
